Dear President of University of Windsor, Vice President Academics, and Dean of Graduate Studies: Dear Sirs: As you are aware, there have been regular cuts in the Graduate and Teaching Assistantship Funds in the last few semesters, these funds form a vital part of Graduate Student incomes. Unfortunately, these cuts are financially affecting me and my quality of life. Furthermore, this reality is putting my research work into jeopardy by taking my concentration away from it. Indeed, the continuation of this trend will have dramatic effects on me as a graduate student. Therefore, I feel that it is extremely important to bring my concern to your attention given that you fulfill a key administrative role at our University, particularly with respect to ensuring consistent progress in various areas of research at our institution. The economic reality for me is that scholarships and research assistantships cannot cover all of my expenses. As such, the availability of Graduate assistantships is vital to me and the lack of them is unwillingly forcing me to consider leaving this University and along with it, my research. I am sure that you will agree that the advancement of this institution is tied closely with the research that Graduate Students, like myself, are carrying out without unreasonable expectations on a daily basis. In light of the above, I would like to ask you to make every effort to ensure that Graduate Students are treated fairly, in a manner that will ensure that we are afforded the reasonable level of compensation we require to focus our attention on our research rather than our deteriorating economic condition. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for reading this email and addressing this issue! Best regards,
